Thema is the chair that truly started Swedese founder Yngve Ekström’s career as a furniture designer. In 1953, he brought a Thema chair to the Nordiska Kompaniet (NK) shop in Stockholm, and presented it to an enthusiastic interior designer. The rest, as they say, is design history. An early example of flat-packed Swedish furniture that was efficient to ship and could easily be self-assembled by customers.
